OK, I changed it: removed cuba; added leon and saved it.Then went to the category search tab off ''Home'' and tried ponce de leon without quotes.nothingThen I tried leon and got Carnivorous Plant Localities only.cuba returns three, one of which is this category. ponce returns the correct category. Will an index routine run overnight? How do I ...

The other advice is good. Excellent even.If you know the code, though, for a waymark or a geocache, you can just put it into http://coord.info/wmorgccode and that will get you there.http://coord.info/WM7AK0And don't worry, the coord.info domain belongs to Groundspeak too.

silverquill:Anyway, I now have a waymark in a country I have never visited! Now, I ask you, is that right? You didn't log a visit did you? Now THAT would be wrong if you didn't really visit. But yeah, this seems a little iffy.

the blue quasar: bootron:The date problem should be fixed now. You still won't be able to enter 01/01/2009, but it will behave properly when you enter 1/1/2009 now.
Sure would be great if Groundspeak would adopt the ISO format... I confess that I can't understand what 7/5/2009 is. And without the hanging ''0'', it looks messy in a ...

chapterhouseinc:but wouldnt it just be easier for
http://www.waymarking.com/waymarks/WMWZM
to accept
http://www.waymarking.com/waymarks/WMwzm
or
http://www.waymarking.com/waymarks/wmwzmApparently it wouldn't be easier, because what you want works fine with http://coord.info/wm#### and not with http://www.waymarking.com/whatever.I ...

chapterhouseinc:originally i think it was the first 5 uploads that showed. now i think its the last 5.
If there's no default, then the first photo uploaded is the default. After THAT it's the latest FOUR (or less).

chapterhouseinc:yes, but this function is not clearly seen by the untrained eye--link on the GC home page the box that alrady has the 'GC' in the box......
my process is just to click to view a waymark, any waymark (hey, it runs up the views on the featured waymarks) and just change the URL.....
If you want to do it THAT way, just use ...

bootron: 0ccam:Do I have to put something in each of the Reason fields for a new waymark? I put ''new post'' in each one just now, but I can picture that getting old. Could you default it to say ''New Post'' if that's what's happening? Low priority request. No, the reason fields should not pop up on new waymark ...

v11d2003:Hello I am new to the whole owning a GPS so I studied and finally came up with the Garmin 60CSx. so here is my question: When I am on a map and I see something I want to mark on the map I hit enter and I fill in all the information what I want to call the waypoint, icon etc. I will have about an accuracy of about 12-9ft every time but ...

Well, if you did find yourself fancying your childhood treehouse as the
world’s greatest, you may find yourself having to think again after
getting to see the treehouse Horrace Burgess has built around
Crossville in the United States state of Tennessee.http://zuzutop.com/2009/10/the-worlds-greatest-treehouse/

From all this discussion, I'm just eager to see what the new version will look like and how it will work. I'm confident that no information will be lost--the person that submitted the waymark is stored, the people that edit will be stored, etc--so if something needs to change (back?) then the info is available.I do tend to think of waymark listings

silverquill:Only you can answer the question of when you're not a newbie. (Ever watch NCIS? How long will McGee be called ''probie?'') Ziva's ''probie'' too. Per the ep this week, she's only been in her current role for ''a week'' according to Jethro. She's no longer a Mossad liaison like she was.

chapterhouseinc:
why not just have an archived marks tab on each category:
i search for McDs. i click the category. what i see is all VISITABLE marks. but there is a 'TAB' (or other 'search link to the right of the category) that will then only display the McDs that are no longer visitable (archived). This would be fine.

TheBeanTeam: 0ccam:I'm pulling them OUT of Archive so that I can make them (LEGACY). How do you do this. I have a few that I had out of the directory that are now archived as well. I didn't see a way to ''un-archive'' them.Right column. Second section, called Waymark Options. Last option, ''Unarchive Waymark'', right under View Gallery.
