Hello everyone...I know that the article that I am going to supply a link to in this post doesn't actually apply to Waymarking as such, but I know that a good portion of us are also active Geocachers and a portion of that group may also be Letterboxers as well.
This article is in regards to local cemeteries banning ''treasure hunting games'' ...

I went so far as to volunteer to take my ex-wife to visit her boyfriend who was incarcerated in a prison about 150 miles from my home area. I had never waymarked in that area and knew I had about 4 hours down time, while she was inside, to hit the surrounding area. I spent quite a few evenings looking for waymarks to visit that I needed for the ...

I have created a waymark in the category U.S. Post Offices. There is a field called ''re-enter Zip Code here''. I did and entered 03770.
The system displays is asre-enter Zip Code here:: 3770
Looks very weird to me. The system should display it asZip Code: 03770
I have looked into other U.S. Post Office waymarks and the ...

I also experienced this unusual display, last night when looking at my waymark list page. It started out loading normally, then about half way through loading, it suddenly went crazy, with the icons all the way to the left and the rest of the information way off to the right side of the screen. I haven't checked today, though....

One method I have seen mentioned in the forums before is to take a picture of your GPS device either immediately before or after taking the pictures of the item or items you are waymarking. For example, once you have positioned yourself at the location you want to save on your gps, then take a picture of the gps display first, followed by however ...

Is anyone else having trouble logging into waymarking? I logged in this morning and reviewed several waymarks, however, now I am getting a message when I try to log in, that my IP address is being blocked by the server. I tried from several different directions, such as directly typing in the website into my address browser, clicking on the links ...

I have been looking at Heavens Above frequently lately and if I read it right, it looks like there are 3 very good chances for a visible ISS pass over my area next week. I would seriously like to catch this opportunity, but have a couple of questions as to the data that is listed there for my location.
1) am I to understand correctly that the ...

Perhaps its too large in scope to be a good category, plus the fact that it isn't ''global'', but I recently browsed through the New York State ''Roadside America'' listings and some are quite interesting. There are currently over 400 just in New York State. I thought perhaps it would make for an interesting category, a place to ...

When I saw this possible category mentioned in the ''recruiting groups'' area, my first thought was that it was for those places where people paint those little footprints in a pattern to lead people to a point of interest. (Although, those are neccessarily permanent in nature).

I tried your example on my own profile and it produced a list of all the waymarks in the category that I have visited. I'm not sure why you are having trouble, but it appears to be working as expected on my end.

Well, I'm not sure what caused the map problem, and as of this morning, it was still missing. However, I deleted all cookies and temporary files this afternoon and now the map is back to normal. I had already tried lowering my internet security level, and that didn't help. So, it must have been a cookie that was causing the problem. Just thought ...

Hello, is anyone else experiencing a problem with the Google map function? Ever since I logged in this morning, the google map box is there, however, it is blank. There is no map and no zoom in or out arrows at all. I have turned it on and off several times, logged in and out 10 or 12 times and it hasn't worked all day. I haven't seen anyone ...

I experienced a similar situation a couple of weeks ago. A waymarker contacted me in regards to a waymark that they had submitted, wondering why it hadn't been approved or declined for a couple of weeks. They included a link to the waymark in their email and as soon as I looked at the waymark, then closed out of it, I received an email stating ...

0ccam:ptcrazy, do you take nominations, similar to the way Groundspeak does with Featured Waymarks on the front page? For that matter, are nominations taken for the Barns?
I would gladly take anyones suggestions for future ''featured'' post offices. Just drop me a line with your suggestions and we'll take it from there. Thanks for ...

You are correct.....I will definitely go back through the earlier waymarks and bookmark a few others that will be honored in future months. Thanks for the suggestion, it makes perfect sense.

Just a note to let everyone know, I have added a new feature to the U.S. Post Office category.
First off, I want to thank fishingwishing for allowing me to borrow the ''featured barn'' idea and
incorporate it into the U.S. Post Office category. I have always thought that it was an excellent
idea, being able to showcase one outstanding or ...

I think it would certainly make for some interesting photos.
Would this include things like a door on a second or third story building with no apparent means to reach it from the outside? Although, (in most cases), I'm sure it probably had a stairway leading to it at one time, however, it was later removed or fell down. I have seen this a couple ...

I hope you don't let this problem get you down too quickly! There are many picture resizing programs available to either download to your computer, or use online resizing programs available through many websites. My computer uses Windows XP, for example, and I went to the Windows website and downloaded a resizer program to my computer. Now, all I ...

I also like how some categories show a lot of personality and you can tell the authors really care about the category and are ''into'' it. There was one that I got a good chuckle about where they listed a car as a Don't Want. I can't remember the category off hand. For most of us, it's obvious that the car was not intended, but you'll always ...

I'd be interested in helping if needed. I have one waiting in the wings if it makes it through the approval process. I wanted to put it in Hiking Path Footbridges, until I read the category requirements and found they don't accept boardwalks. Just let me know, Chilihead.

''I would not claim that major gasoline distributors don't sell E85...stations selling E85 in my area include Shell and Mobile, hardly mom and pop. It in the corn belt area's of the country you will E85 is more common at stations because it shows support for the local economy.''
Here in Central New York, E85 ethanol is starting to show up a ...

I also have two new icons that have not yet appeared on the grid, one in AMVET and one in Presbyterian Churches. Both were approved since the upgrade and both new icons for me. Are we still looking into it?....Thanks, PT.

I fully agree with the Blue Quasar on the long description situation, as it seems like the long description box appears more and more like an ''optional'' item, when submitting a waymark. True, it is sometimes difficult to find something interesting to add to the long description in some categories, such as the fast food cat's, Walmart, and ...
