OK, Thanks!
Reviewing the fields, I think that I can make a reasonable guess on the artists and the kinds of art that can be purchased from my pictures. But I didn't see the name of the person who refurbished the machine and whether this machine is the same that was found, previously.

These are general enough:
-Photograph any sign showing the name of the location waymarked (ex. parks, stores, hospitals)
-Photograph any sign/plaque/flier/reference to a web site or take literature that describes the location.

I went to find the Art-O-Mat at OOP!! in Providence, RI, because it was on the way. Lo-and-Behold! I find it! I get my item, I take pictures and talk with the sales person there.I go back home to log it in. First, I am having trouble with filling in the fields, since the art-o-mat web site doesn't have the details when you click ...

One take on McDonald's and history - Someone might try to waymark or visit all the film locations of the documentary, ''Supersize Me.'' (and get a bonus, since these waymarks could be logged in as movie locations - unless only fictional movies count).
I have 1 logged as a waymark, and there will not be more than a handful. ...

I joined as well. Put me in as an officer if needed.
One comment - I looked at the list of groups, and I didn't see anywhere in the Group Recruiting page that indicates that a group is on probation. In fact, on the summary page, of the quarries group it lists Number of Members as '7', (now '8'), which is the ...

I, too am skeptical, but I don't claim to understand the process fully after reading this thread. Some random thoughts:
I find the idea of trading or voluntarily giving waymarks to other players intriguing and needed. Eventually, people will leave or maybe GroundSpeak will receive a notice saying that 'so-and-so has just passed ...

Hey, Cache_test_dummies (and other officers in categories that I have attempted to post),
You do alright by me. You keep me in check! There were a few questionable waymarks I posted that were rejected - and looking back, that's what should have happened! (Though I might still grumble).
As a fellow officer, it is work, ...

The SPACE one in Portland, ME, is still there. I'll be logging my visit and posting photos soon!

I think that there are enough pipe organs out there in the world that are accessible that this category would flourish nicely.
Unlike pianos and other instruments that I can think of, pipe organs were often made custom to the location, and certainly fitted custom to a location. These organs, especially the older ones, will ...

Sorry I didn't see this sooner! It has been a very hectic time as I have just moved to a new house, but there might have been a chance to squeeze in a meal or something. Hopefully there will be an opportunity next time you are in the area!

You don't have me on the list, yet. I have 601 waymarks posted and 240 visited, so far. That puts me just out of the top 50.

Thanks for the work put on it.

Sorry, I had to drop out for a while. I just moved to a new house, so I had to put waymarking asside for a bit. I'm glad for the interest and help. I'll do some research on Manitoba and come up with a draft of the description in a couple weeks!

OK, my US$/CAN$.02,
I'm a skeptic on the 'orphan' waymark. I view Waymarking.com as a scavenger hunt with defined categories that you try to list. On scavenger hunts in college (Greek Week fraternity competitions), we had a list of something like fifty things to get that matched an item on the list, for example, a shirt with a ...

I found this nice historical marker and was looking for the category for Manitoba Historical Markers, and, *GASP*, one hasn't been set up yet.
Are there any Manitobans or Winnipeggers (if that is what you call yourselves) out there in getting this category set up? I can be an officer to help start it. Until this trip I took, I ...

OMG! That message - I know where it comes from!
I'm voting for the 'shrooms (but only fresh - not the canned ones).

My $.02:
Actual visits should be logged in as 'Visits'.
If you want to post pictures but didn't actually visit the location, then it should be logged as 'Write Note' and then upload the pictures.

I've had a reviewer tell me that it would be hard to get to the waymark since it is in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. I think I had copied the minutes and seconds for each but did not enter the degrees for either one. This person had actually accepted it with the note to correct the coordinates.
There is also an issue for waymarking

I was looking through my list of waymarks from my profile page, and I noticed that there was a lof of white space on the left side, and the names of categories were crowded over to the right side. I scrolled down the list and saw that the Knights of Columbus (KofC) icon was taking up most of the room (it was about 600 or so pixels ...

It took me a while to figure this one out. From my Profile Page, if I click on 'View All Waymarks' in the right column, the list appears with all approved waymarks, which is normal. When I click on the Filter: NorStar's Waymarks and click on all the check boxes for types of waymarks, and make sure 'My Waymarks' is also selected, then click the

I can make it a New England 'Hatrick', since I am an officer of MA Historical Signs and I just signed on for RI Historical Signs. I live in Massachusetts, and I have traveled through Vermont many times. If you need another officer, I can fill in.

I'm just reading about this time period in my history class. I think its worthy, no matter how small the conflict. This might include other conflicts or skirmishes that might not count.
Here's a couple ideas:
''Heroes/Veterans of Forgotten Wars'' (we would have to define what a war is - do uprisings such as Shays Rebellion in ...

Has anyone encouraged him and others like him to use 'Write Note'? I have done that a couple times when I didn't meet the requirements but still wanted to log something. I did that with the Louisiana State Capital - I did see it, but from the highway, so, it's not a real visit. I've had one of those 'Retro Visits' too, and ...

Massachusetts (As of 03/04/09):

Wow, I had lost track of the number of geocaches in the state. I'm working on the waymark numbers!

I'm an officer for Massachusetts Historical Signs. We fit the 'small state' scheme. There are tons of historical markers, but the only ones that fit an official 'state-wide' program are from the ''Massachusetts Bay Tercenteniary Committee'' way back in the 1920s. Many still exist, but many are gone, ...
