Even on categorized ones, sometimes I lose the denial e-mail, sometimes e-mail isn't working, etc. It would be nice if that data were available online somewhere for the way-owner.

It would be nice if there was public information on the edit pages of waymarks (ie, denial + cat + reason). I can see an uncategorized waymark getting sent to the same group multiple times because multiple people don't know it is denied. IE, if someone sees the AIDs memorial in the uncat list, thinks it would be a good disaster ...

BruceS: chapterhouseinc:i told you that wouldnt work.....I would not say that it does not work.... I do it all the time and it works fine... I may not be explaining all the clicks correctly but it does work. No, it was an ''I told you so'' about trying to put the AIDS memorial in the Disaster Monument category; very adult.

BruceS:It sounds like you have it uncategorized. Instead of clicking update click the preview and submit tab on the top of the page. The page should be displayed with a bunch of red text on the top saying it does not have a category. On the bottom you should be able to click submit. There seems to be the issue... You can't ...

BruceS:If it is your uncategorized waymark you can click edit and you will see a link saying change/remove category. If you do this it will remove the category and then it can resubmitted as an uncategorized waymark. Not sure if that helps or not.Right now, it says [Select a category]. When I try to update (hoping to ...

So I attempted to help a waymark out by placing it in a category I thought it should go (AIDS memorial placed in the Disaster memorial category). It failed the vote (nothing useful or helpful, just one 'no' comment), I want to put it back to the Uncategorized List. I can't figure out how to do this. Anyone know?

0ccam: ODragon: BruceS:The reason the Leon didn't yield is anything is because of spelling. The spelling in the the category is Ponce de León with the accent mark.Sounds like Leon (no accent) would make a good keyword. That's a good idea. Scroll up and suggest which one to remove to fit that in. I'm leaning towards 'poncedeleon' but I'm open ...

From what I've seen, the search feature here uses words in the description. I keep running into trouble remembering the exact name of categories. As we get more and more categories, creators will need to better think about words that should be used in the description. Maybe adding a category creator keyword at the end of the ...

chapterhouseinc:how about a variable for uncategorized waymarks....I agree. If we're going to have uncategorized waymarks, it would be nice to have an easy way to say that is what you are posting. With the drop down, I am going to try to fit it somewhere.

chapterhouseinc:i did not recieve 4 conformation notes....
and in posting an uncategorized waymark: the red text says 'You must continue selecting categories until you reach the deepest subcategory.'
is this exactly the opposite of an uncategorized mark? there is no category for it.I can confirm that I didn't get 2 conformation notes and 1 ...

No problems so far. I was able to re-categorize two waymarks I had written in the wrong categories without having to do much (other than add an address line by line, hey Nate, fix that!). I liked being able to do this. Changing the category is a bit cumbersome requiring a bunch of clicks, opening up a new window to find out what ...

ODragon:Most websites give their address in blocks that one can cut and paste. Using a box (seen below) allows direct cut and paste for addresses, making it easier for data importation.I am bumping this thread as a number of new categories (Blacksmith Shops, One Room Schoolhouses, Aviaries, Dive Shops, Magic Shops), seem not to realize how ...

BruceS:I disagree. It may need to be reworded but the link should remain. What if I don't care to reply back and give my email address then I can click the link send message back.''This user included their e-mail address, click reply to respond directly or click this link to respond via their profile.''''This user did NOT include ...

When you are sending someone a message through waymarking, there is a option which says ''Allow recipient to see my email address'' when people do this, the following line in the e-mail sent should be removed. ''To respond to this message from Waymarker X, use the following link:'' Leaving this in is confusing when I get an e-mail to ...

silverquill:Ah, I didn't think they would be included in the Musical Instruments category either! At least one has been included in the Musical Instruments category. It is one of the 25 largest in the United States, free access almost all of the summer and I think on Sundays year round.

Please, I have one in vote that's been there since the end of January. I've contacted management of the category, no response, I've contact Checkmark who checked that it was still active and sitting there. So it just sits there for a vote and I wait.I had one published last night, I was confused as I didn't remember it. It was ...

I can't tell you how long ago the old GC maps went away on GC.com. However, they are the first link on every waymarking page under Search for... Maybe it's time for that links to be removed?

Redneck Parrotheads: ODragon:In my eternal search of U-Hauls, I found one at night and posted my grainy cell phone shot.
Reading that hurt me. A grainy cell phone at night?
Just Say No! A u-haulic has to do what a u-haulic has to do!

Personally, I feel like we shouldn't judge the quality of other people's photos. If people want to waymark at night and the pictures are good enough to prove they visited the object, I have no issue. In my eternal search of U-Hauls, I found one at night and posted my grainy cell phone shot. The picture sucked but it was a valid visit. Are
