Here's a bug I haven't seen mentioned (but maybe I missed it)...When I click on ''edit waymark'', I'm given the opportunity to edit people's ''private'' comments to the reviewers. It seems like if they're told that only the reviewers will see it, I shouldn't be able to.

I have a saved search near my house. I am modifying it to search state-by-state for waymarks. I turned up two waymarks listed as being in Alabama (hint: I do not live within 100 miles of Alabama). I also discovered the Washington Monument listed as being in Virginia. I am then submitting corrections. This new ...

As long as we're making feature requests, how about an auto-detect based on the coordinates? I use a website for tracking my bike riding that, when I upload the GPS tracks, ''guesses'' which town I'm in. OK, it usually guesses wrong, but it never gets the state wrong.I've found fairly often people posting the wrong state, especially ...

I sometimes abstain without comment just to get the new category notification to go away.

Would it make sense to have some sort of warning message when the minutes end in 000? (Similar to the proximity warning.) I've already caught 2 approved waymarks with that error. One after driving around looking for it, the other when looking at nearby waymarks and noticing, ''That's not supposed to be so close to ...

1) I would welcome some system for submitting corrections on waymarks. I often see misspellings in titles, waymarks listed in the wrong states, or poor choices of default images. I hate to e-mail people and ask them to correct. Sometimes when I do, I never hear back, anyway.I spend a lot of time on wikis, and sometimes with ...

I think locking an under-review waymark is reasonable, as long as the lock times out pretty quickly -- 10 minutes? 30? 5?

Now that this independent bookstore is (sigh) closed, what is the preferred means of handling the existing waymark? Archive? Uncheck 'make visible'? Just note it in the description so that people can log visits to the Greek Store (sigh) which is replacing it?

This looks like a cool one to waymark:http://www.thewashcycle.com/2009/01/golden-triangle-bid-bike-rack-design-contest.htmlFrom other pages, it looks like it's at the south entrance to the Dupont Circle station. I doubt I'll make it there any time soon, so I thought I'd put it out there for others.

I'm generally too far away from Richmond to grab these, but I thought someone else could use this info:http://www.wtop.com/?nid=25&sid=1661040

When adding a new waymark, it tells me that it's showing me other waymarks in the category in a radius of 0.5 miles, then it shows me a waymark 1 mile away.

90% of the time, a photo of myself with the waymark is sufficient.Sometimes, though, they specifically want the GPSr in the picture (boo). Sometimes, they specifically don't want me in the picture. Sometimes, they don't require me in the picture, and it would be nice to know in case it's a pain to get a picture of myself with the ...

I just did my 185th category (Art Noveau/Art Deco), and jumped from 4 in a row to 6 in a row. If I were systematic about it, I could do better. I have found at least one diagonal that's reasonable (doesn't have East Waziristan Historical Markers in the middle), but I tend to do categories as I come across them instead of seeking them ...

A friend of mine suggests that it's modern Hebrew. Once he did, I realized that I had rotated things so that that language was upside down (since I didn't realize it was a right-to-left) language, and the letters match the Hebrew alphabet.Ancient Hebrew is on the other side; that threw me a little.

I am trying to complete the language field for a peace pole I'm planning to post, but I can't figure out what language is in the lower left here.Any assistance would be appreciated.-psp

Noticed this went up for a vote without (as far as I could tell) discussion. Thoughts? Does it overlap with existing categories too much?Just trying to decide how to vote...

I visit and post. I try to be careful to satisfy the visit requirements for whatever category I'm posting. (It's annoying when the category requires a separate visit.) As said above, visiting calls for a different set of information than posting in most cases. Since I actually have to visit the waymarks in order to post ...

There are quite a number of these in Maryland; funny my first thought was over-prevalance.

I'd love this category -- back when it was called NTN, it was one of my obsessions.

globetrotters.us:There is a place at the bottom of the newpaper online page to add a comment. DudleyGrunt has contacted the Post; I suggest waiting to see what he hears back before waymarkers comment on the blog page.

Compare the default photo on the waymark to the photo here: http://voices.washingtonpost.com/comic-riffs/2008/10/the_morning_line_when_maryland.html

It also occurs to me that someone could write to Bill Griffiths and ask for his permission to post that. Not to hold waymarking.com to higher standards than the Washington Post. ;-)

I updated the log with a link to the comic. I would be happy to delete the photo, but I think that just clipping the Laurel Tavern Donuts sign out of the strip makes it fall under ''fair use''.
