Someone finds them interesting enough to waymark, I guess.
My question is: why just underpasses under roads? why no overpasses? or under/overpasses around other things (railroads, bodies of water...)
I posted that they should bring the idea to the forums, I'm sure others said the same thing in their votes. I hope they do so we ...

saopaulo1:I thought titles were locked from editing by other waymarkers. I hope it doesn't turn into some edit wars.
Actually, I'm glad titles can be changed too. I know of one waymarked statue that was identified as the wrong person! Despite e-mailing the owner and the category and providing resources stating who the ...

I'd love to!
I'm in central NC. I'm showing a max altitude of 78 deg at 06:58:35 on the 29th. Are we far enough apart? It's been a while since I looked at the category but I remember something about 1 minute of travel time, I think.
As a back-up, if the weather's clear, I'm showing it again on the 31st 06:09:41 at 79 deg ...

I always think of it boiling down this way: In Geocaching, people place containers at places they find interesting in order to share the place with others. (some Geocachers really enjoy highway guardrails...etc. but we'll let that slide) In Waymarking, people make waymark pages to highlight things that are interesting in order to share ...

Good enough for me. I like the idea, I'm just having trouble completely wrapping my head around keeping it separate from superlatives. With a little clarification of what ''tallest'' requires for this cat in the description (like what you've put here about it not actually being the tallest something, just being the tallest ...

Would this have too much overlap with the superlative category? It's been a while since I looked at that category, but can't tallest things be placed there?

globetrotters.us: TheBeanTeam:br>And what is MLA format? Globetrotters.us can you give an example of what you are thinking of for a variable. I think it is a good idea but wonder how it might be applied.
My books are packed, so I may be a little off. MLA is the standard that college students are taught to use to cite their sources in ...

2) If all the information that would have gone into the citation is on the page in mandatory variable, but not directly states in a MLA format, is it considered sourced and fair use copyright applies?Yes.

You may want to check your local outdoor supply/sporting good stores too. Some have rental programs that aren't well advertised. You may be able to rent a few GPSrs for a weekend.

Here in NC, some towns do this, and other regions do this. So instead of ''Best of Raleigh'' you get ''Best of the Triangle'', which is what that area is called. I don't know yet how I feel about this for Waymarking though. What these places are voted the best of seems pretty widespread. My good friend works at what was ...

silverquill:...So, if I want to find my waymarks Pending Approval, I have to UNcheck 5 boxes! If I miss one, I have to do it all over again. Clicking on one or two boxes is sure a lot easier then unchecking five!Really you'd just have to click ''uncheck all'' and then check the one you want. So it's only two clicks. You could ...

It may not have been reviewed yet. Check your ''my waymarks'' tab to see if they show up there as approved or rejected. The e-mails may also just be going to your spam folder.I use yahoo mail and every now and then it decides that waymarking is spam, and I have to remind it that it's not.

There's a local gas station here with signs on each pump declaring that
''these pumps do not except debit cards'' right there by the number pad and the card swipe.
The station owners could not figure out why people kept trying to use a
debit card and punch a pin number.
I think a grammatical ignorance category could be fun.

Sharptail:I rotated the photos in my Mac photo program first. That failing, I rotated them in Photoshop Elements. That failed too.If you're using iPhoto, make sure you're uploading from the file it re-saves as, and not the original file, that should include your changes.

Yes, it's been discussed before. You can find that thread here. They are waymarkable in the Motorcycle Sales and Service category.

I had some of the same thoughts as touchstone when reading the category.
I've only ridden a motorcycle for seven and a half years, so I've not
logged near as many hours as many of you, but I wouldn't really know
where to begin in waymarking for this category as written.
I know it's a little abstract, and hard to pin dow, examples of ...

I really don't understand why one would need the street address for a waymark at all. I like when the box is optional, I don't usually add the address, not because I'm lazy, but because I think it's redundant and a little silly. And if it's going to be required, the text box is much nicer than the individual fields. This is a GPS game, ...

small oaks:yramc600: You could start this if you
like;) Definately cool image in first Odometer 10000's photogoal
waymark. Do you know coordinates of that location?
Unfortunately, no. I could estimate but I'm not really comfortable with that, I know what side of what road I
was on and the approximate location, but I didn't have ...

Motorcycles don't, or at least mine doesn't, have space on the odometer for 100,000 miles. They're not designed to last that long I guess. 100,000 miles would look the same as 0 miles on my Honda.I was excited enough when my bike hit 10,000 miles last year to pull over and take this handy cell phone camera photo. Lovely day in ...

BruceS: JJG10101:Count me among the many supporters of this new category. One question, though: I read the description, and didn't see anything about the percentage of the animal that needs to be at the ''kill'' site. There's about 40% of a skunk on a street near my house. Is that enough? You better hurry and get that one, I understand that 40% of ...

TheBeanTeam:What are they?Local service club signs?Yes.Basically, around here, these collections of signs are found near a main entrance to a town. Showcasing the civil service organizations active in the area. They're all collected together on one main sign, usually naming the location.I don't know if/that these really should be their

I like it!Let's be sure that the bell tower has real bells! My church has a tower, with music that comes out that sounds exactly like real bells, but it's a computer. This tower is built in such a way that you can't see in the tower to verify its bells. Maybe another source of verification should be used if a visual isn't possible

Maybe they need their own category? We have signs like that here in NC too.

I like the idea of this category, I bet you'll get a few that are more interesting than you'd expect...The field my high school plays on is owned by the city, so if you limit it to only fields owned by schools I won't get to tell you the funny story about how the lights caused one game last season to be played on a Monday instead of Friday
