yramc600:
I posted that they should bring the idea to the forums, I'm sure others said the same thing in their votes. I hope they do so we can all hash it out.
I agree. The concept is worthy of at least a discussion, but their execution for this category was poor by being so generic. They left it too wide open for any ...

As an alternative, a simple search in Google or Yahoo - or whatever your favorite search engine is - usually finds the right waymark with just the code.
If there happens to be a product code with the same number, then you can add site:waymarking.com in the search box to narrow the field down.

I'll echo Bean Team's post and add an additional ''No Interest'' to the fray, for what is worth.
If this category idea gets approved, I will submit only one set of bathrooms. They are easy enough to find around here at the local parks or trailheads.

I noticed the Dedicated Benches group only has two members let alone officers.
The Open Enrollment is closed, too.
Anybody feel like saving this category, or should it fade away?

Waytour!
Good call, Bruce!
That would be an excellent solution for this sort of situation.

Usually it is noted in listing requirements if personal comments are necessary.
Commercial waymarks, especially the subjective ones like Recommended Accomodations, really need a personal account. A restaurant or wine review is also nice to see in the those kinds of waymarks.
The only non-commercial category that I can think of that requires

I would really like to see a draft for Photo Goals instead.

Temporary waymarks do not get my vote - sorry.
Photo Goals asks for the waymarker to interact with the photo so perhaps looking for the pot o' gold at the end of the rainbow would work. To expand it for other phenomena, you could ask for actions that are appropriate for the image. Holding up Light Pillars or something.

As for free satellite/aerial photos, see if your local county assessor's or GIS department has on-line mapping available.
I just looked to see if swizzle's Montgomery County, NY has aerials on-line. They say they do, but I cannot find the layer.

Also it is not 100% accurate.
I stumbled across a sculpture that is longer in the location depicted.
In fact, none of the long time residents ever remember seeing that sculpture - ever. The photo clearly shows it existed, though.
Now, I have mystery to solve. Does anybody know of any meddling kids and a dog with a speech ...

fatcat161: And since this is a game, we have to remember that reviewing is a job so that the rest of us can play.
Fatcat
But the game is no fun when the rules keep changing or - as mentioned above - unwritten.
I had a (rare for me) waymark denied because it didn't meet the unwritten minimum threshold. I resubmitted ...

Hey Swizzle!
I think you need to focus on the famous people categories since GW and A. Lincoln are already represented.
Benjamin Franklin may be the best chance for you.
Shakespeare's home has already been destroyed (and waymarked)
Ponce de Leรณn, Bonaparte, Vasco da Gama, and Carl Linnaeus are likely to be found outside of the US if they ...

I've mentioned before about my experience while posting the Booterstown Martello Tower WM43PW in which I just happened to ask an elderly gentleman if the Tower was being used for anything now. As a response I recieved a chronological history of the tower going back to what his mother had told him about Johnny Oaker the carriage ...

For me, it is not a tough one to get. I am selective as to what I post and being respectful of the traditions. I could probably post a dozen sites with in 30 minutes of home, but only a couple have endured public scrutiny. So I only have one posted in this category. The others are remaining quietly anonymous and out

Title it ''Larger than Life Locals'' or something without the word ''Legend.'' It will be too confusing with the other categories.
You will also need to exclude the memorials dedicated to people for their extremely brave and/or heroic military service. Those should be accepted in the Specific Veterans Memorials.

Big B Bob:Yes, we would exclude farriers, that would be a person, not a place. If they have a coal fire, iron, anvil and hammer, and they create horseshoes and other twisted metal... they would be included... no matter how small.
Coopers/Barrel Makers? Bending metal is only a small part of their work.
Wheelwrights would be similar, but ...

The links provided scream there will be issues with subjectivity since there is very little standardization between the various sites.
I will also add fuel to the fire with other pedestrian ways such as the Skyway System in Minnneapolis (elevated) and the Toronto PATH System (underground). They serve a similar function.
Again, I will ...

When I was visiting England and Ireland last year, many of the churches we toured were very proud of their organs (as mentioned above) and provided a long list of organists throughout its history. Unfortunately, many of these churches do not permit photography in the sanctuary, either
This category idea will be hard to balence. ...
