Not that I want to throw myself on any landmines here but if there is enough interest from others reading this post for us to form a group of officers please contact me. I have some sites I would love to waymark in a category like this. I have some ideas as well on how we could make this flexible enough to work with some of the other categories. The

While doing research for a waymarking recent trip we were on I found that a category I had been interested for some time was really quite well documented online. The category would be defunct amusement parks. These are widely documented worldwide through wikipedia and I found 3 or 4 other sites as well. I thought this might be a bit of ...

I like the car hop idea as well and would gladly serve as an officer in the group. If you aren't interested in running with the idea let me know and I will.

I mostly enjoy finding and listing items of historical interest, One of my favorite categories is The National Register of Historical places. While on a recent trip to St Augustine arguably the oldest city in America I discoevered a couple of markers for National Historic Landmarks. As I read the wikipedia entry about this paticular designation I ...

I am an experanced Waymarker and understand the process of uploading pictures. What I am interested in, is any tips or tricks from the community to help SPEED up the process of loading pictures since the web site is currently running so slow. Does optimizing pictures before hand help? If so, any recommendations for software and ...

Great idea I recently logged a Hatcherie which also had a site along the Great Florida Biding Trail. I think a few of the attributes would be type of fish raised, where areas the Hatcherie serves, type of exhibit, fishing open to public. Prboably others as well.

Thanks for the listings so far. The feedback from the community has been psotive and heard. I went ahead and dropped the variable for magnitude and simply placed in the listing instrcutions to give us some idea of your judgement or information based on research of the magnitude of the springs. As I did more research for judging that it couldn't ...

I have heard from the experience of the community and now that Groundspeak has listed the category I have edited it and removed the GPS requirement from the posting requirements.Dont remember if it is the visiting requirements if so that will be edited as well. I will also be posting some sample pics of various size springs so magnitude can ...

We appreciate all the positve feedback from the more experienced waymarkers here. Our desire to gauge the flow of the springs is not a science but a calculation so we can gauge the size and flow of the spring. In a non scinetific manner the flow of the spring is also generally determined by the size of the spring a very large spring would be

Public access is a good idea . it would be nice to add a varialbe for private porperty with permission or something along those lines.Yes we would only be waymarking the springs themselves. One of the listing requirements would be for magnitude of the springs as determined by water flow.

Natural Free flowing springs abound in my home state of Florida as well as around the world. Being somewhat new to Waymarking I am surprized not to see a category to Waymark springs with. I saw Artesian wells(drilled), Spring Houses and Hot Springs (developed and undeveloped) but Natural free Flowing springs do not fit in any of these 3 ...
