I messed around with the archiving bit, and I must say that I wish there was an option, at least for premium members, to turn on and off archived waymarks. This would allow a waymarker to take out archived waymarks if they are looking for something to actually visit, but if they are just doing some online viewing to look at stuff they could still ...

I don't know, I guess I just don't understand why it is so terrible to have categories where waymarks actually fit in with the category. That's just my deal though and this is for everyone so if everyone is still against archiving despite the fact that they have made archiving real, then whatever.

Actually I was just reading through the waymarking.com release notes.''- Added a new waymark status: Archived. Now you can archive a waymark
or delete it. Archive would be used for waymarks which are seasonal,
for instance. You can always unarchive a waymark, but you can't
undelete one. You may find that some previously deleted waymarks ...

I agree with Bruce, this was too all inclusive for me and still that last paragraph reads to me to be that this category is for waymarking everything in the middle east. I don't mind the idea of historic sites for the middle east, in fact I like it, but it is very all encompassing as is.

Ahh thanks for the satellite. I really do like this idea though yeah it may not be incredibly prevalent... still is cool, if you could find more examples from elsewhere I think this is great. I also think you almost need to require the satellite image of it to get the impact of it, but that isn't hard to do. I have a feeling there are far more ...

Btw, I don't behoove that others may disagree and while I can even see to some extent that perhaps this category isn't interesting because apparently animals are not interesting to some... ummmm the following denial caught me off guard.''Vote: DenyComments:None''Apparently reading isn't a strong suit to some, now granted the likeliness of this ...

I like the idea, would obviously need to ensure that onramps wouldn't be included. Given that the first picture was basically a bridge under a bridge that brings up the question if that sort of thing is allowed. The main reason I ask is because I know larger cities have that quite frequently (Milwaukee in particular seems rather bad at these types ...

Not including plants was a the request of someone else when I was throwing around this subject on the boards about 6 weeks ago when yes many of these here comments would have been far more helpful=/ Someone else was going to head up Red List Plants in a separate category essentially is your answer. In defense of archiving. I included that because I ...

globetrotters.us: Razak:This and worse has crossed my mind believe me... however, I still believe in the idea of awareness of the animals and I also don't want to limit it to captivity because that is already covered essentially by zoos and I think that isn't what I am hoping for out of this either. However, whether this gets in or not I will put ...

I too think unique clocks (not that the clock is unique but that in tells the time of something unique) and counters would be cool for categories.

I said nay and put in pretty much the same as above. I am sure they intend better than to have Targets, wal-marts and Michaels (although I think Michael's is actually a tweener here), but they did not word it as such so I voted it down. I do hope they correct it because I have been traveling and found really cool scrapbooking stores that I think ...

I wouldn't mind a queue system per say where maybe only 2 to 3 could go up for review at any time. If your group puts in #4, it gets put into queue until the peer review for one of the others completes. Either that or put it on maybe like an X-Box live like system where ever Tuesday 2-3 new categories get put up for review, with the review period ...

Changed mine to yea, though honestly I think this will be the last mailbox waymark that I approve... already seems to be too many... to get another one someone really has to impress me.

Giving this another shot. The Animal Kingdom Group is looking for another officer/more members to help manage the Red List Animals Category that will be tracking places to spot endangered species. We are identifying an endangered species by using the IUCN Red List. We'd really like to get this cat going and would appreciate some help. Thank ...

I think that the thing payphones has going for it is that they are dying at a far more rapid rate than blue boxes ever would (unless the post office went away). I don't particularly mind payphones, no they aren't exciting, but they are becoming more and more rare every year thanks to the cell phone. While I personally would like something more ...

This topic kind of cross lists with Post offices as well as every post office has a blue box, while there are blue boxes elsewhere, about half your waymarks for this category are already covered. Personally, I don't think it is all that interesting, I'd rather you have a waymark category for non-standard USPS boxes. (I saw SteveHerrick put up

Here is what I came up with for this category, we could use a third officer to get it started if anyone is interested:The Red List is a
list of plant and animal species put together by the International
Union for the Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources for the
purposes of evaluating the extinction threat of those species. This
category ...

Ahh poor snuffelupuguses, or is it snuffelupugi? We really should take care of them better!I just wanted to make sure we were on the same page. I still see worthiness of splitting it up a little more though I do agree that perhaps threatened/endangered split was a bit much. I wouldn't mind seeing in addition to your plants to also split off ...

yramc600:What about an endangered/threatened animals category? Waymarks could be posted for each location where the waymarker sited an endangered/threatened animal. If the same species is posted more than once in different locations, fabulous! Zoo animals would be ''visited'' most often. But for wild animals, when posting ...

lol, I try to stay away from the generic ones as best I can... the attempt is to try to find a more interesting way to do it. Like I said, I don't particularly want there to be a load of different animal categories for each particular species... it'd be too much. I thought it might be better to have a single category for all of them to lower the ...

miatabug:I've never seen anything rated lower than a 3. Most are rated 4 or 5. Doesn't seem to be a useful feature to me.There may be a couple factors in this particular phenomenon. 1) Visiting is just a small fraction of actual waymarks and rating I think is better for visiting. And 2) People very well may weed out what to visit in ...
