Living history is an activity that incorporates historical tools, activities and dress into an interactive presentation that seeks to give observers and participants a sense of stepping back in time. Although it does not necessarily seek to reenact a specific event in history, living history is similar to, and sometimes incorporates, historical ...

Here is a new category idea. We have officers. We have a draft category. Now we need your feedback.Catgeory Posting pageAbbey Road category may be classed as a whimsical idea, for fun. A fellow cacher has an art project about all Abbey Roads. Do not be alarmed by site filters saying below is a malicious site. Its what Bryan is linked ...

I'm interested in starting a group to log as many Masonic cornerstones as possible. There are tens of thousands out there, but I'm just not sure how to get started. The kid and I went out and collected the waymarks and photos for three today, but are now stymied.
I began a group called 'Masonic Cornerstones'' but I can't seem to figure out how ...

The group Alley Cats is interested in starting a discussion about a proposed category Alley & Lanes. And is recruiting Officers and Members.Alley/Lanes are narrow pedestrian passageways typically between buildings that are
too narrow for normal motor vehicles to pass through. Or vehicles are
prohibited from that area.Alleys/Lanes may have ...

I've seen a few groups whose purpose is to waymark *specific* food businesses and a group that waymarks official Rest Stop Areas. But what I'm always looking for in my travels are stops that include a bathroom, food, and gas... all in a ''one-stop-shop.'' We also often need a variety of foods to pick from to satisfy everybody in ...

I mostly enjoy finding and listing items of historical interest, One of my favorite categories is The National Register of Historical places. There was a thread about the fact that visits posted are not quite up to the number of waymarks posted.
Here is my proposal to promote visting waymarks and categories. I'm looking for input, especially from the group who manages ''Lucky 7''. I tried to look in past entries for something similar but didn't find anything.
For now, I'll ...

I know there is already a category for Independent Donut Shops, but would there be any interest in waymarking Dunkin' Donuts shops as well? According to their corporate website, they have been around since 1955, with over 4,800 U.S. locations, 1,700 Foreign and an unknown? number in Canada. Anyonehave any thoughts as to whether this one is worthy ...

I love Friendly's. My sister and I used to work at one. Back then we started doing something similar to this and we went to as many Friendly's as we could in our area. I would love to be able to do that and incorperate it here (if only past visits counted... oh well).
I think it would also be nice in this case to also include buildings ...

This subcategory also includes green or sustainable buildings. I am mostly interested in strawbale and cordwood construction but there are many others such as earthbag, adobe, earthship, papercrete, cob, bamboo, and rammed earth. If the building has a living or green roof it would be even better. Comments or suggestions?

Been thinking of this for some time. A category to do with recycling sites. Here in the UK and Europe we are trying to reduce landfill of refuse. Public are asked to sort their waste at source. All very well when you are at home for your kerbside collection, but as a waymarker you are away from home trying to dispose of your rubbish ...

I was thinking the other night about how the United States was built on Wagon Roads. I am talking the kind of roads that hauled freight and emigrants across the country before the Railroads became king.Manifest Destiny would not have been possible wtih out them. The Mormon Migration wouldn't have made it to Salt Lake with out one. All the trails to

Anyone interested in helping create a County Fairgrounds category? Seems like these bits of real estate are pretty useful things to know about. They host a LOT of events, and it'd sure be nice to be able to see where they are and writeups on them.
Anyone?
